~ The mountains are calling and I must go ~
Last week I visited Saalfelden, Leogang in Austria. Although I`ve only been to Austria 2 times before this area is definitely my new fav! I was so happy to be back in the mountains. They just give me the ultimate feeling of adventure that I crave so much.
I`d been invited by Saalfelden Leogang and Salzburgerland together with 8 other influencers to come and explore this beautiful mountain area.
We stayed in an amazing hotel: Hotel Salzburghof in Leogang and I had this gorgeous view of the mountains right outside my balcony! I love how central this hotel is. If you walk 2 minutes you can take the gondola up the mountain which will be perfect if you come in the winter time for skiing/snowboarding. However there’s also plenty to do in the summer: there’s a bike park and Flying fox (which I’ll talk about more later) and loads of other fun activities.
Alright let me tell you what I’ve been up to 😉
Day 1:
I left home at 3 am to drive to the airport where I took a plane to Salzburg, Austria. I was then picked up by Anna from Boom Creative Lab and we drove to Saalfelden Leogang together. The way there is so amazing! As you drive further into Austria the landscape gets better and better. The Leogang Rock Mountains are just incredible. Unfortunately the drive only took 1 hour but I could have driven for hours and hours with this kind of view!
We arrived at the hotel and I could chill for a bit before the others arrived. Hotel Salzburgerhof is a Sporthotel and provides everything you may need during your stay with amazing buffets mornings, afternoons and evenings, two wellness areas, a climbing wall outdoors, they offer guided hikes and much more!
After everyone arrived we had lunch and we went off for our first little hike and ended the day with a lovely dinner up the mountain.

Day 2:
Wake up call at 3 am cause we left for a sunrise hike at 4am! We left in the dark so we couldn’t really see anything but when we arrived at the top above the fog it started to get a bit light and the view was just insane!
We walked a bit further to the Alm where we were gonna have breakfast and walked through a field of cows. The sun came up and it was just the best thing ever… Then we made our way down again through the forest and the morning sun shone so pretty through the trees. It looked magical!
Later that day I went to give it my first try at the Bike park in Leogang. I’m not gonna lie but this was so scary! I hadn’t been on a bike for a couple of years and to go straight to the bike park was a bit challenging. It definitely made my heart racing like crazy but I did end up having loads of fun and an amazing new experience!
After dinner we went for a little sunset mission which again showed us the beautiful mountains of this area.
Day 3:
This was the BEST. DAY. EVER! At 6 am we left for another hike up a mountain. The hike is called Riemannhaus which brings you to a house up a mountain and from there you can take several other routes to climb different mountain tops. There were only 4 of us doing this hike including our mountain guide Georg from Mountain Mystics. The hike to Riemannhaus is quite steep at some parts but there is a good path that you can follow. It took us about 3 hours to reach Riemannhaus where we stopped for a well deserved break. At this place there’s actually a small restaurant + you can also sleep here. Of course I had to order Kaissersmarren which are like little pieces of pancakes but thicker. It’s delicious! If you visit Austria you need to try this 😉

We decided to climb a bit further to the top of Breithorn so we would have an amazing view. This hike doesn’t really provide a clear path so it’s a bit more tricky to get to the top but I found it way more fun than the first part. Georg our guide knows everything about the mountains and had such good stories to tell. The part we walked on was actually the bottom of the sea millions of years ago. We even found some fossils of clamps which is just crazy at 2000 meters!
View of the sea bottom (so crazy!)
I’ve never climbed a mountain before so at some parts I found it quite challenging but that made getting to the top even better! The view was so amazing the photos cannot even do it justice! I was left so amazed by the beauty of this earth…

Unfortunately after spending a while taking photos and admiring the view we had to go down again.
This experienced really woke up something inside of me. The mountains have left me so inspired and full of life! I can’t wait to climb some more mountains very soon.
We arrived back at the hotel at 7 pm, had some dinner before I left again for the next sunset mission. I don’t think I’ve ever been so tired in my life but it was all worthwhile.
Day 4:
Last day! Noooo I really didn’t want to leave this amazing place!
I had some time to sleep in that morning before we headed to our last activity: Flying Fox! It’s like zip lining but lying down with your face forward so its gives you the feeling of actually flying. I couldn’t think of a better location for this with the rock mountains on one side and the trees below you. It was a lot of fun so if you are ever visiting this place you have to try it!
And that was it. My short trip to Saalfelden, Leogang Austria was over! While in the car to the airport I made the decision to make my way back here in October for a fun road trip and I can’t wait till I get to visit this amazing place again. See you soon mountains!
Thank you all for the amazing experience!!
