Recently I went on my very first road trip. I`ve wanted to do this for so long but never really had the courage to do it. The thought of just jumping in my car and see where the road may take me always intrigued me so much but actually going through with it scared me witless.
Until this year I thought: Life begins at the end of your comfort zone, right? Just do it!
And so I did it. For one week me and my car drove around and visited places in Belgium, France and Switzerland and it was the best thing I could have done. I`m even planning a road trip for next year! (It was a bit of a gamble taking my old little car with me but he made it all the way! So proud of him, lol).
During the trip I stayed at hostels and Airbnb`s. Staying at a hostel for the first time has completely changed the way I used to think about them. The best nights I had were at the hostels! This is where you meet new people and share awesome stories with each other. Like on my first night. I didn’t know what to expect but it was amazing. Right after I arrived I met two girls and we just spent the whole night sitting outside, enjoying the view, telling each other awesome stories and laughing at each other’s crazy adventures!
Staying at Airbnb`s can be nice too though if you want a little more quiet time and privacy but I think I prefer hostels.

Next hostel: Cancale, France
I stayed in Hostel Auberge de Jeunesse HI Cancale. Seriously the best location ever! I arrived at night so I couldn’t see the place properly but the next day I couldn’t believe my eyes! This place is beautiful. And there is an awesome hike also going all the way down the coast with awesome views!
Next I stayed in Talmont-Saint-Hilaire at an AirBnB which was the loveliest place. The couple only spoke French and I do not speak French at all but we made it work 🙂 I stayed here because it was close to sea and the next day I went for some surfing in the Vendee. (which was amazing by the way)
Made it to Switzerland! The pic above is from the view I had from my room! I mean i`ve had worse 😉
I stayed at an AirBnB in a little town called Aeschierid near Interlaken.
Made a new friend!
Mürren, Switzerland. I just have to get back there. This view, this place oh man!
