Hey! A couple of days ago I came home from an amazing trip to Austria. I’ve loads to show and tell you about and will do so in multiple blog post but first I want to start off with the beginning of the trip in Saalfelden Leogang where I was invited to explore the area with five other bloggers/photographers. We did loads of fun activities and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start of my road trip to the mountains!
Day 1
I don’t really have much too tell you about this first day. I left at 4 am and arrived at 3 pm in the afternoon after an 11 hour drive. Went straight to the pool at the hotel (Salzburger Hof) where I met up with the others. They had just arrived back from Flying Fox (a zip line lying down, face forward). I had just missed it but managed to do it couple days later.
After that we went for dinner at Huwie’s Alm where the food was amazing!
Day 2
We spend all day in the bike park where we started with bike training in the morning. After lunch we were ready to try our new learned skills on the crazy and epic downhill bike trails in Leogang. I did this last year without much training and felt terrified and I swore to never do it again. However after a full morning of training I felt so much more confident this time and had the best time on the downhill trails. The feeling is actually quite addicting and I can’t wait to do it again!
Day 3
Another bike day! This time we took the e-bikes and visited a couple of places along the way. Our first stop was at the Einsiedelei(hermitage). There is a hermit living on a mountainside above the town of Saalfelden in a beautiful little “house”. There is no electricity or running water and there is only a small uphill path that will take you there in about 20 min.
One of the other stops was an Alpaca farm! I had never seen alpacas before and they are so cute and funny looking! I even got to walk with one called Yogi and I had the time of my life, lol! You can find the farm we went to here.
Day 4
Early start today for a sunrise mission on top of Spielberghorn Mountain. We left at 3 am and drove to the mountain where we had an 1,5 hrs walk up. As soon as the sun rose it was so magical! I only was on the top for 5 minutes since I cannot stand the cold at all(next time i’ll wear 20 layers of clothing) and then made my way down slowly and enjoyed the epic views in solitude. I found some goat friends later on a mountainside and had a little cuddle with them.
And that was it! Another epic trip to my absolute favorite place in Austria. The rest of my Austrian road trip will be in another blog post very soon!
